This one-woman show explores the idea of embodying one’s multitude of ‘selves’. One does not only belonging to a gender, but also to a family, a race, a community as well as to the past selves. In mixed-race people this is even further pronounced because of of belonging to various races and thus having a visibly fragmented identity. This is the conversation that a woman has with these selves that she must acknowledge in order to find belonging within them.

2019 Ovation Award Winner. This beautiful show explores one person’s identity in a wider context of complex identity issues. Exquisitely performed and written by Khwezi Becker, and carefully crafted by Nomcebisi Moyikwa. Khwezi’s articulation of her experience growing up in a mixed race family spanning two continents is deeply sensitive and an insightful comment delivered from a very fresh and unique personal perspective.
