This talk will focus on the work that Lauren Fowler produces, the pros and cons of being a freelance illustrator and how to capture the majestic unicorn that is inspiration. Fowler is the illustrator of the children’s book, Florence and Watson and the Sugarbush Mouse and will show the process on this. She is currently working on the next book, The Great Pangolin Mystery, which is also the children’s play that she designed that will be on the programme at this year’s Festival. 

 Lauren Fowler is an illustrator living and working in Cape Town. Working from a studio called “Lost is a Place Too”, Fowler spends her days illustrating commissioned artworks and designing custom work for local and international clients. Fowler graduated with a BA in Brand Communication from the AAA School of Advertising and has been running her own business and practicing her craft since 2008.
