2017 Standard Bank Ovation Award Winner

Malcolm is staring at his front door, a perfectly normal one-bedroomed flat front door; except for the multitude of closed bolts on the inside, plus the pieces of plank hammered into the wooden doorframe on either side… No one has been in or out, in a while.

‘Agony’ was a stylish, yet substance-filled story that takes you on a thrilling journey into the mind of the main character. The writing, by Iain Paton is absolutely superb, while the performance from Craig Morris (Tartuffe) perfectly captures the essence of the character, thanks to the delectable direction from Megan Willson. This play will demand your attention from the first second to the last moment, a five star play on all fronts: acting, writing, direction
