Booking forms

To book accommodation in the Rhodes residences, the Rhodes Festival Hotel or various High Schools in Grahamstown, or to book Intercity Transport from Port Elizabeth airport to Grahamstown, come back to this page in May 2012 to download the forms.
 

Travel Packages

We will partner with travel specialists to put together simple, one call travel packages to the Festival. Whether you're coming for four nights or fifteen, these packages will be carefully designed to give you the best possible Festival experience at the lowest cost.

If you'd like to go it alone, we suggest booking your flights into Port Elizabeth early (British Airways, 1Time, Kulula, and SA Express all have flights into the city). To get to Grahamstown, either book a car and make the pleasant 120km journey through the magnificent Eastern Cape, or book an intercity transfer with us once booking is open.

Accommodation

There are loads of accommodation options in Grahamstown - from University res accommodation, school hostels, B&Bs and self-catering houses. All the contact information and booking details is contained in our booking kit which will be available from May or for download on this page in early April.

Air travel

SAA, British Airways, 1time or Kulula.com all fly to Port Elizabeth. Bookings can be made through any ASATA travel agent or on the respective airlines’ websites.

Intercity transport

A Festival transport system to and from Grahamstown meets flights at Port Elizabeth Airport (except flights after 20:00)  NB: Booking is essential and will be available from May 2012.

Intercity Fare

Single fare including VAT

  • Port Elizabeth/Grahamstown R200 per person.
  • Return fare is double the above.

Intercity Transport arrangements can also be made during the Festival by enquiring at the TRANSPORT DESK in the Monument foyer.

Avis car hire

AVIS is the Festival’s exclusive car rental company for 2011. Their sponsorship of some of the vehicles for Festival use is gratefully acknowledged. Avis Van & 4X4 Rental

Festival Hopper

We will be operating an extensive "hop on hop off" service around Grahamstown during the Festival, enabling you to move to all the main venues across town. Each journey costs R5 from any point to any point. A quick-call taxi service is also available, at a flat rate of R30 per journey.

Luxury Game Lodges

The Eastern Cape boasts some of the best game lodges in the country - featuring spectacular scenery and the Big Five. Some lodges close to Grahamstown offer special rates to Festival goers. To see a list, click here
