Productions Information Booklet (PDF)
Productions Registration Form (PDF)So you want to be part of AMAZ!NG in 2012? Excellent news, we’re very glad and look forward to welcoming you to Grahamstown.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Before the curtain goes up on opening night, there’s a lot to get through…and this page is where it all starts. Here’s your step-by-step guide to taking part in the National Arts Festival Fringe (if you're here looking for info on taking part on the Main, you're a little late - the deadline for Main proposals passed in August 2011)
Download the paperwork by clicking on the links on the right. You will need the Information Booklet as well as the Registration Form. If you want to stage a production (theatre, dance etc) you'll need the Productions Registration Form. If you want to bring an exhibition, download the Exhibitions Registration Form. And for Film, obviously, you'll need the Film forms, and Music for Music.
Read the Info Book. Then read it again. Also check out our branding guidelines, and download technical drawings of the Fringe venues that appeal to you. You might want to take a look through last year’s Programme so you can get a feel for how other productions are marketing themselves. Now fill the form in, and get it back to us.
Note the following deadlines:
20 January 2012 - Closing date for Registration and Payment of Fees. Carve the date into the ceiling above your bed so that you don’t forget it. (Note that the deadline for Music submissions is 30 January 2012)
10 February 2012 - Last day you can submit your production’s vital information for inclusion in the programme – we’ll need a funky photo and short description that grabs the attention of your audience. This is also the last day you can cancel your production without incurring the wrath of the Fringe-gods.
30 April 2012 - By this date we’ll need all your technical information so that things go dark when they are supposed to and so that we can tell you that, no, there isn’t room for your inflatable pink elephant backstage.
Booking opens at Computicket nationwide round about now.
8 June 2012 - If you'd like our Fringe-elves to help put up some posters before the hordes get to Grahamstown, send us 10 copies by this date and we'll make sure you get some prime spots.
28 June 2012 - National Arts Festival starts....time to break a leg.
